The simple idea
Start with this
In present-simple statements, use has with he, she, it or one named person. Use have with I, you, we and they.
See it in everyday English
Hindi and Gujarati lines explain the meaning; they are not word-for-word pronunciation guides.
- I have a question.मेरा एक सवाल है।મારો એક પ્રશ્ન છે.
- She has a blue bag.उसके पास नीला बैग है।તેની પાસે વાદળી બેગ છે.
- We have time.हमारे पास समय है।અમારી પાસે સમય છે.
Make a useful statement
Choose the person first: Aarav has a bicycle. His friends have bicycles. The form follows the subject, not the number of objects. She has two pencils is correct.
Ask and answer
Use Does she have a pencil? and She does not have a pencil. After does or doesn’t, use have. With they, use Do they have a pencil?
A common mistake, gently fixed
Needs a change: Does he has a notebook?
Try this: Does he have a notebook?
After does, use the base form have.
Say it aloud
I have a notebook. My friend has a pencil. Do you have an eraser?
Optional device voice. Availability and pronunciation depend on your browser; no microphone is used.
Your turn: Describe two things you have. Ask a friend one question beginning Do you have.
Try three questions
